SENTRY-KOTE™
Fluid-Applied, Cold-Applied, Polyurethane Waterproofing Membrane
DESCRIPTION
SENTRY-KOTE is a cold-applied, fluid-applied, polyurethane waterproofing membrane. The product provides a seamless, elastic waterproofing membrane. This membrane is weathertight and flexible to maintain durability during extreme temperatures and freeze/thaw cycles.
USES
SENTRY-KOTE is suitable for use on interior or exterior concrete surfaces, where protection from water intrusion is desired. The product is designed for horizontal applications, interior or exterior. Suitable substrates include concrete, metal, single-ply EPDM, and bitumen felt. Suitable applications include roofs, water tanks, balconies, terraces, shower and bath floors, kitchens, and light pedestrian traffic areas, such as stairs, stadiums, and grandstands.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
- Provides an elastic, flexible waterproofing coating.
- Fluid-applied – easy application.
- Can be used on a variety of substrates.
- Bonds strongly to substrate.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation … All surfaces must be clean (free of all coatings and curing compounds), free of frost, relatively smooth, and structurally sound. Conduct a bond test to assure proper surface preparation has been accomplished.
Mixing… Mix well before using. Mix using a low-speed mixer
Priming … Apply appropriate primer to surfaces that will be covered within one working day. If left exposed overnight, additional adhesive must be applied. Follow all instructions and precautions on containers. All substrates must be clean, dry, and free of all surface irregularities. Appropriate primer is determined by humidity and moisture conditions at time of application.
Application Method … Optimum surface and air temperature is between 4º and 40º C during application. Apply when the surface temperature is always 3º above the dew point. Apply by roller,
brush, or spreader. Apply in two different colored coats at 1 kg/m2 (.205 lb./ft.2) each. It is recommended to use all material in the container. Use a spiked roller immediately after application to reduce bubbling.
Drying Time… Drying time varies based on temperature and humidity at time of application. Drying time will be longer with higher temps and humidity. Drying times can range from four hours up to 35 hours based on these conditions. Contact W. R. MEADOWS technical services for more specific information. Keep free from foot traffic for two days. Allow 10 – 15 days for drying before contact to water.
Cleanup… Uncured SENTRY-KOTE cleans up easily with alcohol or other solvents. Cured material must be removed by mechanical means.
PRECAUTIONS
Product should not be applied during high moisture conditions. These conditions could cause bubble formation under the membrane surface. SENTRY-KOTE is an aromatic-based polyurethane. If exposed to sunlight, it will yellow. SENTRY-KOTE is a relatively soft coating. If exposed to pedestrian traffic (even light pedestrian traffic), a color-pigmented protective topcoat is recommended.
