It permits complete hydration of the cement by retaining at least 97% of the water present in the concrete at the time of application for at least seven days. The white pigment reflects the heat-producing rays of the sun, keeping concrete surfaces cooler and preventing excessive heat build-up and resultant thermal cracking during the curing period.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USES<\/strong><br \/>\n1220-WHITE is a reflective curing compound designed for exterior use on freshly placed concrete surfaces, both horizontal and vertical, particularly where protection from the sun&#8217;s heat is required. It is recommended for use on driveways, walls, sidewalks, concrete highways, runways, overpasses, bridges, tunnels, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEATURES\/BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1220-WHITE pigmented curing compound contains SUSPENSOID, a unique additive which assists pigment dispersion and prevents excessive pigment settlement.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent moisture retention properties.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent heat reflective properties.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent sprayability.<\/li>\n<li>Easy clean up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PACKAGING<\/strong><br \/>\n18.9 Litre Pail<br \/>\n205 Litre Drum<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVERAGE<\/strong><br \/>\n4.9 m\u00b2\/litre (240 ft.\u00b2\/gal.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHELF LIFE<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 &#8211; 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within one year of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ASTM C 309, Type 2, Class A and B<\/li>\n<li>Complies with Canada VOC Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations.<\/li>\n<li>OPSS 904 &#8211; MTO D.S.M. 9.25.25 Form 1315 &#8211; Ministry of Transport, Ontario<\/li>\n<li>Approved by the Ministry of Transportation, Quebec.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Mixing \u2026 <\/strong>Only nominal agitation of 1220-WHITE is required prior to each use. Do not employ constant re-circulating pumps or high-speed mixers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Method \u2026 <\/strong>Apply in a uniform film to horizontal surfaces as soon as the surface water disappears and the surface will not be marred by walking workmen. On vertical surfaces, apply promptly after the forms are removed. 1220-WHITE may be applied with a typical commercial hand or power sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949. Use a spray nozzle that produces a flow of 1.9 LPM under .276 MPa of pressure. Do not allow the spray nozzle to drip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drying Time \u2026<\/strong> Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours. Drying times may be extended depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clean Up \u2026 <\/strong>Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water. Once dried, material would need to be cleaned with xylene, toluol, or SEALTIGHT<sub>\u00ae<\/sub> SOLVENT from W. R. MEADOWS.<\/p>\n<p><b>PRECAUTIONS<\/b><br \/>\nDo not apply when air, material and\/or surface temperatures are expected to fall below 4\u00b0 C within four hours of completed application. 1220-WHITE is not recommended for use on concrete surfaces that are later to be painted, tiled, hardened, sealed, or treated in any manner. Avoid breathing vapours.
