When applied on freshly placed concrete, it forms a tough, uniform, moisture-retentive film, which simultaneously cures and seals the concrete. CS-309 meets the 350 g\/L VOC limit for concrete curing compounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USES<\/strong><br \/>\nCS-309 is used for curing and sealing newly placed concrete in commercial and industrial applications, such as floors, sidewalks, service stations, multi-level parking decks, and driveways.<\/p>\n<p>CS-309 is recommended for exterior use.  The product is non- yellowing due to ultraviolet light exposure. It provides a durable finish that resists chemicals, oil, grease, deicing salts, and abrasion.<\/p>\n<p>For interior applications, specify and apply <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/vocomp-20-concrete-curing-sealing-compound\/\">VOCOMP<sub>\u00ae<\/sub>-20<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/vocomp-25-concrete-curing-sealing-compound\/\">VOCOMP-25<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/vocomp-30-concrete-curing-sealing-compound\/\">VOCOMP-30<\/a> curing and sealing compound from W. R. MEADOWS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEATURES\/BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Permeable film allows moisture in cured concrete to evaporate.<\/li>\n<li>Retains mix water in concrete to permit complete hydration of the cement paste for hard, dense concrete resistant to staining, abrasion, dusting, and spalling.<\/li>\n<li>Film remains on concrete surface to permit easy cleanup and reduce maintenance costs.<\/li>\n<li>Accepts chlorinated rubber- and oil-based paints and most flooring adhesives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PACKAGING<\/strong><br \/>\n3.78 litre pails, 18.9 litre pails, 205 litre drums<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVERAGE<\/strong><br \/>\n4.9-14.73 m\u00b2\/L (200-600 ft.\u00b2\/gal.)<br \/>\nCoverage is approximate and depends on the porosity of the surface.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ASTM C 309, Type 1, Class B<\/li>\n<li>Complies with Canada VOC Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Ministry of Transportation, Quebec<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Surface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Apply as soon as all surface water has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workers.  Surface to receive sealer must be dry and free of contaminants.  Remove all stains or discolourations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Method \u2026 <\/strong>Apply using low-pressure sprayer, such as a Chapin 19049.  An 80\u00b0 fan pattern spray tip rated at 1.8 L (1.0 gpm), such as a Chapin 6-5797, provides an excellent even coating.    Please contact sprayer manufacturer to ensure suitability of sprayer with product.<\/p>\n<p>Product should not be applied during high temperature conditions in direct sunlight.  These conditions cause rapid evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these conditions, the film may peel, bubble, and\/or turn white (blush).  Surface temperature of the concrete must be between 10\u00b0 &#8211; 32\u00b0 C (50\u00b0 &#8211; 90\u00b0 F).<\/p>\n<p>Apply product as soon as all surface water has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workmen.  Apply evenly over entire surface; avoid puddling in low areas.  Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours.  Twelve hours is preferred.<\/p>\n<p>Product should not be applied to concrete containing excessive moisture.  Entrapped moisture in a solvent-based sealer may cause the film to peel and\/or turn white (blush).<\/p>\n<p>Additional coats may be applied once a previous coat has dried.<\/p>\n<p>For optimum protection, apply a further coating of the product and\/or apply a coating of <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/hiac-acrylic-concrete-sealer-voc\/\">HIAC<sub>\u2122<\/sub><\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/hiac-plus-acrylic-concrete-sealer-voc\/\">HIAC-PLUS<\/a>. Note: Concrete must be a minimum of seven days old prior to the application of HIAC or HIAC-PLUS.<\/p>\n<p>Note:  In cases when product is applied to existing concrete surfaces (more than 28 days old), the variations in colouration of the sands and aggregate present in the existing surface may be enhanced, causing the surface to appear discoloured.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drying Time \u2026 <\/strong>Product dries quickly.  Drying times may be extended depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions.  Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours.  Twelve hours is preferable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cleanup \u2026 <\/strong>Clean tools after use with a solvent such as SEALTIGHT SOLVENT, xylene, or toluol.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nFor industrial use only.  Apply without dilution or thinning VOC content of the product.  FOR EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY.  Surfaces treated with CS-309 may become slippery under certain conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Do not apply CS-309 if the temperature of the concrete is below 4\u00ba C (40\u00ba F).  CS-309 may be used on coloured concrete, but mottling may occur.  Do not use on dense or non-porous surfaces, i.e. brick, stone, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer when treated with CS-309.  Concrete floors properly cured with CS-309 meet section 8.9 &#8220;Adhesion of Tile Cements&#8221; of ASTM C 1315.  For other specifications, secure the approval of the paint or resilient flooring manufacturer before applying CS-309.  The specifier and user shall determine the suitability of product for specific applications and assume all responsibility in connection therewith<\/p>\n<p>CS-309 is a membrane-forming sealer.  All membrane-forming sealers may darken concrete or magnify imperfections caused by variations in the porosity and\/or finishing of the concrete.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH AND SAFETY<\/strong><br \/>\nContains solvent.  Use with adequate ventilation and avoid prolonged breathing of vapours that may cause dizziness or suffocation.  Avoid contact with skin and\/or eyes.
