\nForm Release Agent<\/strong><\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

DUOGARD form release agent is a ready-to-use mixture of organic chemicals, which react with the concrete alkali to prevent bonding of the concrete to the form, and a chemically inert, high-molecular weight non-reactive ingredient, which also facilitates form removal.\u00a0 This combination provides both chemical and physical (DUO) separation for highly effective form release.<\/p>\n

USES<\/strong><\/p>\n

DUOGARD can be used on forms such as wood, steel, aluminum, fiberglass-reinforced, all grades of plywood (pre-oiled, overlaid, LDO, NDO, HDO, MDO), epoxy-coated, and urethane-coated, as well as fiber tubes.\u00a0 DO NOT USE on expanded polystyrene (foam), rubber, latex, or latex forms made from SBR or natural rubber.\u00a0 Wood forms should be saturated prior to first use. DUOGARD increases the life of wood forms by penetrating into the wood to waterproof and prevent deterioration. It also reduces maintenance requirements on metal forms by forming a rustproof film that makes the metal form essentially self-cleaning and rust-free.<\/p>\n

DUOGARD should be applied to fiber tube forms even though they may be pre-coated. Tubes will strip much easier, even 60 to 90 days later. If tubes are stripped in 5 to 10 days, hand rubbing is greatly facilitated when tubes are coated with DUOGARD.<\/p>\n

DUOGARD also cuts machine cleanup time because it minimizes concrete buildup. Pavers, trucks, mixers, spreader-finishers, buggies, chutes, and other types of equipment should be sprayed daily with DUOGARD for easy cleanup and rust prevention. DUOGARD can be applied on forms for pre-stressed and precast concrete to produce a better and cleaner cast. The product will not stain or discolour concrete. DUOGARD is also available in a true water-based formula, DUOGARD II.<\/p>\n

      APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Surface<\/strong> Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Form surface should be clean and free of hardened concrete and other deleterious materials.\u00a0 Remove rust, scale, or previously used form oil from steel forms in accordance with good concrete practice, especially for architectural or exposed concrete surfaces.<\/p>\n

      Application Method \u2026 <\/strong>Apply by low pressure sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949, equipped with an 80\u00b0 fan pattern spray tip (such as a Chapin 1-5915), at a rate of 0.4 litres (0.08 gal.\/13 oz.) per minute in a light, even coat.\u00a0 When employing a brush or roller, take care to apply as thinly and evenly as possible.\u00a0 More is not better; a thin coating provides superior results.<\/p>\n

      New wood forms (not pre-coated) should receive at least two coats before being used.<\/p>\n

      All forms should be recoated before each subsequent use.<\/p>\n
