DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
\nPENTREAT 244-20 W\/B is a water-based, 20% active content silane penetrating sealer.\u00a0\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B is a hydrophobic, impregnating sealer that helps prevent chloride-induced corrosion of rebar, scaling, spalling, freeze-thaw damage, and other causes of debilitating concrete.<\/p>\n

USES<\/strong>
\nPENTREAT 244-20 W\/B is designed for use on horizontal, vertical, new, and existing concrete and masonry above-grade surfaces.\u00a0 Suitable applications include residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B can be used on all types of concrete, including parking structures, stadiums, driveways, plazas, patios, walkways, median barriers, ramps, traffic-barring concrete, and loading docks.<\/p>\n

    COVERAGE<\/strong>
    \nCoverage rate is approximately 3.05 m2<\/sup>\/L (125 ft.2<\/sup>\/gal.).\u00a0 Coverage is approximate and may vary depending on surface finish\/texture, concrete porosity and condition, climatic conditions, etc. Always apply to a test area first to determine actual coverage rate before full-scale application.<\/p>\n

    SHELF LIFE<\/strong>
    \nWhen stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 – 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within one year of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n

    • Complies with Canada VOC Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      APPLICATION<\/strong>
      \nSurface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, and dry with all stains, oil, grease, dust, dirt, efflorescence, and curing compounds removed prior to application. For optimum results, wait 28 days before applying PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B to new concrete.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B can be applied earlier than 28 days; however, lower penetration can be expected.<\/p>\n

      Application Method \u2026 <\/strong>Apply with a low-pressure airless sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949 with a 0.379 LPM (0.1 GPM) spray rate.<\/p>\n

      Horizontal Application\u00a0 \u2026 <\/strong>Apply in a single pass.\u00a0 Completely saturate the surface and leave wet for 3 – 5 minutes.\u00a0 Then brush out or broom all pools and puddles of material from surface.<\/p>\n

      Vertical Application \u2026 <\/strong>Apply two coats wet on wet.\u00a0 Do not allow the first coat to fully dry before applying the second.<\/p>\n

      Test Application \u2026 <\/strong>Always perform a small test application on each type of surface prior to full-scale application to determine exact coverage rate, suitability, and final appearance.\u00a0 Test using the recommended application instructions.\u00a0 Prior to inspection, allow three days minimum for PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B to fully react after application.<\/p>\n

      Drying Time \u2026 <\/strong>Product dries quickly. Drying times will vary depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours at 20\u00b0 C. Twelve hours is preferable.\u00a0 Drying time will be extended at lower temperatures and higher RH.<\/p>\n

      Cleanup \u2026<\/strong> Immediately clean tools, equipment, and overspray with soap and warm water.<\/p>\n

      PRECAUTIONS<\/strong>
      \nNot recommended for below-grade applications or for use under hydrostatic pressure.\u00a0 Do not use as a waterproofing or vapour barrier. PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B will not block vapour transmission through defective substrates, such as cracked or improperly repaired surfaces. PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B should never be in contact with bituminous products.\u00a0 On vertical applications, protect window panes and window frames that will be painted from contact with PENTREAT 244-20 W\/B.<\/p>\n

      Treated surface must be protected from rain for six hours minimum, but 12 hours is preferable. Do not over-apply. For optimum performance, the moisture content of the concrete must not exceed 4%.\u00a0 The application temperature should be between 4.4\u00b0 – 32.2\u00b0 C. The surface temperature should be 3\u00b0 F above the dew point.<\/p>\n

      Should it suddenly start to rain, stop treatment and cover impregnated areas. Do not over apply. Do not allow puddling or running to occur.<\/p>\n
