DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
\nMEADOW-CRETE H is a glass fibre reinforced cementitious patching compound designed for horizontal applications. The polymer and silica fume enhanced formulation comes ready to use as a single component patching material, simply add the required amount of water and mix in an approved mixing device.<\/p>\n

USE<\/strong>
\nMEADOW-CRETE H is designed for horizontal repairs of concrete, both small and large areas, interior and exterior applications, a minimum of 6 mm (1\/4″) deep. MEADOW-CRETE H is suitable for industrial and civil engineering applications.<\/p>\n

\nPackaged <\/strong>22.7 kg (50 lb.) multi-wall bags.<\/p>\n

Yield
\n<\/strong>Each bag yields approximately 0.013 m\u00b3 (0.44 ft.\u00b3) or covers 2 m\u00b2 (21.5 ft.\u00b2) at 6 mm (1\/4″) thickness. Addition of 7 kg (16 lbs.) of 9 mm (3\/8″) clean pea gravel produces 0.015 m\u00b3 (0.54 ft.\u00b3).<\/p>\n

Storage<\/strong>
\nStore indoors, off the ground. Keep dry for a shelf life of 12 months. Lumps in the material indicate poor storage and material should not be used.<\/p>\n

APPLICATION
\nPreparation<\/strong>
\nMechanically abrade existing substrate to remove all unsound concrete, but do not use excessive force which may cause micro fracturing. Prepare surface in accordance with ICRI Technical Guide No. 03730. Substrate must be structurally sound and free of grease, oil, dirt or any other contaminants that can adversely affect the bond. Prepared surface must be dust-free and have a sufficient profile to ensure adequate mechanical lock.<\/p>\n

Saw cut repair zone edges to a depth of 6 mm (1\/4″) to avoid feathered edging.<\/p>\n

Completely expose all steel in repair zone and abrade entire circumference of steel to a white metal finish.<\/p>\n

Substrate must be saturated, but with no standing water (SSD condition). Repair zone surfaces must be primed with a slurry coat of MEADOW-CRETE H. Thoroughly scrub a thin layer of the slurry coat into the substrate with a stiff bristle brush. For enhanced bond prime (SSD) substrate with a slurry coat (2 parts MEADOW-CRETE H powder to 1 part ACRY-LOK ). Placement of the repair mortar must proceed when the slurry is tacky. Do not allow the slurry to dry.<\/p>\n

Mixing<\/strong>
\nPlace the water in the mixing vessel first, then slowly add the MEADOW-CRETE H. A mortar type mixer with rubber tipped blades is recommended as this type of mixing provides optimum blending. Smaller quantities may be mixed with an electric drill and Jiffy mixer blade at a 400 – 600 rpm speed. DO NOT MIX BY HAND as hand mixing will not produce properly blended material.<\/p>\n

Mix only that amount of material which can be placed and finished within the working time of approximately 40 to 45 minutes at 21\u00b0C (70\u00b0F). Hot weather will reduce and cold weather will increase working time.<\/p>\n

Do not over mix – total mixing time should not exceed 4 to 5 minutes.<\/p>\n

Mixing Order
\n<\/strong>(a) Pour 3.0 litres (0.66 gallon) of clean water for each bag of MEADOW-CRETE H into the mixer.
\n(b) With the mixer running add bag contents, and pea gravel if employed, into the water while mixing – mix to lump-free consistency.
\n(c) Add up to an additional 0.3 litres (0.07 gallon) of water, to a maximum of 3.3 litres (0.73 gal.), to obtain trowelable consistency (water may vary somewhat if pea gravel is dry versus damp).<\/p>\n

Do not retemper or add any admixtures.<\/p>\n

Placing<\/strong>
\nImmediately following mixing, place material onto the water saturated area to be patched. Following the preparation method previously detailed, follow immediately with a full depth placement (do not apply in lifts) spreading evenly with a shovel or screed. DO NOT LET SCRUB COAT DRY PRIOR TO MORTAR PLACEMENT.<\/p>\n

Force material against the bottom and sides of the patch and compact well. Limit finishing, do not over-trowel, with hand steel trowelling. Allow to stiffen, then smooth with wood\/sponge float or broom\/burlap drag for rough finishing.<\/p>\n

Curing<\/strong>
\nProtect the patch against rapid mix water evaporation in sunny, windy, high temperature and low humidity application conditions. The use of EVAPRE\u2122<\/sub> Evaporation Retardant from W. R. MEADOWS may proceed immediately after screeding and\/or between finishing operations. MEADOW-CRETE H must be cured in accordance with ACI 308 utilizing a suitable curing compound, such #1100 or VOCOMP\u00ae<\/sub>-25 from W. R. MEADOWS. Protect from freezing and rain.<\/p>\n

Clean Up<\/strong>
\nClean all tools and equipment after use with water. Cured material would have to be removed mechanically.<\/p>\n

SAFETY & TOXICITY<\/strong>
\nProlonged contact with skin not recommended, use rubber gloves to avoid sensitivity to Portland cement. Avoid contact with the eyes, goggles are recommended. Wash thoroughly with water. See product label and Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information. Read and follow all instructions and precautions.<\/p>\n

Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by W. R. MEADOWS personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only, and are not to supervise or provide quality control on the job-site.<\/p>\n
