DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

PENTREAT 244-100 is a reactive, penetrating, 100% active silane sealer that inhibits water and chloride ion penetration in concrete and masonry structures.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-100 is a hydrophobic, impregnating sealer that helps prevent chloride-induced corrosion of rebar, scaling, spalling, freeze-thaw damage, and other causes of debilitating concrete.<\/p>\n

USES<\/strong><\/p>\n

PENTREAT 244-100 is designed for use on horizontal, vertical, overhead, new and existing concrete and masonry above-grade surfaces.\u00a0 Suitable applications include residential commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-100 can be used on all types of concrete, including parking structures, driveways, plazas, patios, walkways, median barriers, bridge decks and piers, ramps, traffic barring concrete, marine structures, vehicular repair and wash down facilities, and loading docks.<\/p>\n

    COVERAGE<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Unless otherwise directed by applicable specifications, the rate of coverage can be up to 6.1 m2<\/sup>\/L (250 ft.2<\/sup>\/gal.).\u00a0 Coverage rate will vary due to the porosity of the substrate.\u00a0 Always apply to a test area first to determine actual coverage rate before full-scale application.<\/p>\n

    SHELF LIFE<\/strong><\/p>\n

    When stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 – 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within two years of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n

      APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Surface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, and free from dirt, efflorescence, and stains.\u00a0 For optimum results, wait 14 – 28 days before applying PENTREAT 244-100 to new concrete.\u00a0 Concrete surface must be clean and dry with all stains, oil, grease, dust, dirt, and curing compounds removed prior to application.<\/p>\n

      Application Method \u2026 <\/strong>Apply with a low-pressure airless sprayer, such as a Chapin 19069 with a 0.1 GPM (0.379 LPM) spray rate, allowing PENTREAT 244-100 to flood the surface.\u00a0 A small test area is always recommended.<\/p>\n

      Horizontal Surfaces<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2026 Apply in a single pass.\u00a0 Completely saturate the surface and leave wet for 3 – 5 minutes.\u00a0 Then brush out or broom all pools and puddles of material from surface.<\/p>\n

      Vertical and Overhead Surfaces \u2026 <\/strong>Apply two coats wet on wet.\u00a0 Do not allow the first coat to fully dry before applying the second.<\/p>\n

      Drying Time<\/strong> \u2026 Product dries quickly; usually in one hour at 21.1\u00b0 C.\u00a0 Drying times will vary depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions.<\/p>\n

      PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

      FOR OUTSIDE\/EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY.<\/strong>\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-100 IS COMBUSTIBLE.\u00a0 KEEP AWAY FROM ALL OPEN FLAMES, SPARKS, IGNITION SOURCES, etc.\u00a0 Use with adequate ventilation and block all HVAC ventilation ducts which may spread product vapours – vapours are flammable and heavier than air. DO NOT USE BELOW-GRADE.<\/p>\n

      Treated surface must be protected from rain for six hours minimum, but 12 hours is preferable. Do not over-apply. For optimum performance, the residual moisture must not exceed 4%.\u00a0 The air, substrate, and material temperatures should be -7\u00b0 C and rising at the time of application. Substrate must be frost-free. Do not apply sealer when temperatures are expected to fall below -7\u00b0 C) within 12 hours.\u00a0 Maximum application temperature is 35 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

      Should it suddenly start to rain, stop treatment and cover impregnated areas. Do not over apply. Do not allow puddling or running to occur. On vertical applications, protect window panes and frames that will be painted from contact with PENTREAT 244-100.<\/p>\n

      Always perform a small test area to ensure compatibility and performance prior to full application.<\/p>\n
