It can be used on all porous surfaces such as natural stone, tile, concrete, pavers, and grout. DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS provides a solution to spalling and pitting of porous stone and concrete surfaces caused by salt penetration as well as spalling caused by freeze-thaw cycles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USES<\/strong><br \/>\nDECK-O-SHIELD PLUS repels water and protects virtually all porous surfaces, including decks, porches, patios, and walkways around pools.\u00a0 This includes the following surfaces: natural stone, mortar joint, concrete, brick, concrete block, stucco.<\/p>\n<p>Another advantage DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS provides is that the product will not alter the color or tint of the surface after application.\u00a0 There is no need for worry when applying DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS, because the product will have no adverse effects on surface appearance after application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEATURES\/BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS is not a film-forming material &#8211; it penetrates the surface to form an integral barrier to moisture penetration.<\/li>\n<li>Transparent, non-staining.<\/li>\n<li>High solids content; one-coat application on most surfaces.<\/li>\n<li>Surface appearance after application and complete drying is virtually unchanged.<\/li>\n<li>Reduces entrapment of dirt particles and other contaminants that cause discolouration; inhibits soiling.<\/li>\n<li>Protects against efflorescence and rust staining.<\/li>\n<li>Provides spill and wipe protection from stains.<\/li>\n<li>Protects against salt staining and &#8220;whitening&#8221; caused by salt in the water.<\/li>\n<li>Water-based, VOC compliant.<\/li>\n<li>One component.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PACKAGING<\/strong><br \/>\n3.78 Litre (1 U.S. Gallon) Containers<br \/>\n18.9 Litre (5 U.S. Gallon) Pails<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVERAGE<\/strong><br \/>\n7.36 m<sup>2<\/sup>\/L &#8211; 11.66 m<sup>2<\/sup>\/L (300 &#8211; 475 ft.<sup>2<\/sup>\/gal.).\u00a0 Coverage rate will vary due to the porosity of the substrate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHELF LIFE<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 &#8211; 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within one year of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complies with Canada VOC Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TECHNICAL DATA<\/strong><br \/>\nDry to Touch:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1 &#8211; 2 hours (Typical)<br \/>\nColour:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Milky White Emulsion<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Surface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Protect people, vehicles, property, plants, and all non-masonry surfaces from product, splash, residue, and wind drift.\u00a0\u00a0 Concrete surface must be clean from all stains, oil, grease, dust, dirt, efflorescence, and curing compounds removed prior to application.\u00a0 Though DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS may be applied to slightly damp surfaces, best performance is achieved on a clean, thoroughly dried and absorbent surface.\u00a0 Excessive moisture inhibits penetration, reducing the service life and performance of the treatment.\u00a0 Always test for compatibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surface and Air Temperatures<\/strong> \u2026 Optimum surface and air temperature is 4\u00b0 &#8211; 35\u00b0 C during application and eight hours after.\u00a0 If freezing conditions exist before application, let surface to receive treatment thaw.\u00a0 The DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS water carrier may freeze at low temperatures or evaporate at high temperatures.\u00a0 Both conditions impair penetration and results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Test Application<\/strong> \u2026 Always perform a test application on each type of surface prior to full-scale application to determine suitability and final appearance.\u00a0 Test using the recommended application instructions.\u00a0 Let area dry thoroughly before inspection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Method \u2026<\/strong> Apply with a low-pressure airless sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949 with a 0.379 L (0.1 GPM) spray rate, paint roller or brush, allowing DECK-O-SHIELD PLUS to flood the surface.\u00a0 Roll or brush out puddles. Do not let the product puddle on the surface or dry on the surface. After 10 &#8211; 15 minutes, wipe the entire surface with a clean, dry cloth, removing all excess sealer from the surface.<\/p>\n<p>Two coats may be necessary on porous substrates.\u00a0 When applying these two coats, do not allow the first coat to fully dry before applying the second.<\/p>\n<p>Note: Hot, windy conditions will evaporate the water carrier, reducing penetration and performance.\u00a0 On hot, windy days, apply early in the day and in shade, if possible.<\/p>\n<p>Treated surfaces dry to touch in 1 &#8211; 2 hours.\u00a0 Protect surfaces from rainfall for six hours following treatment.\u00a0 Many surfaces need several days to develop optimum water repellency.<\/p>\n<p>For dense surfaces, use <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/deck-o-shield-canada\/\">DECK-O-SHIELD<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cleanup<\/strong> \u2026 Immediately clean tools, equipment and overspray with soap and warm water.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nDO NOT DILUTE OR ALTER.\u00a0 MIX THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO USE.\u00a0 DO NOT FREEZE.
