DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
\nPENTREAT 244-40 OTC is a penetrating, 40% active silane sealer that inhibits water and chloride ion penetration in concrete and masonry structures.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-40 OTC is a hydrophobic, impregnating sealer that helps prevent chloride-induced corrosion of rebar, scaling, spalling, freeze-thaw damage, and other causes of debilitating concrete.<\/p>\n

USES<\/strong>
\nPENTREAT 244-40 OTC is designed for use on horizontal and vertical, new and existing concrete and masonry above-grade surfaces.\u00a0 Suitable applications include residential commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-40 OTC can be used on all types of concrete, including parking structures, driveways, plazas, patios, walkways, median barriers, bridge decks and piers, ramps, traffic barring concrete, marine structures, vehicular repair and wash down facilities, and loading docks.<\/p>\n

    COVERAGE<\/strong>
    \nUnless otherwise directed by applicable specifications, the rate of coverage should be 2.45 – 3.68 m2<\/sup>\/L (100 – 150 ft.2<\/sup>\/gal.).\u00a0 Coverage rate will vary due to the porosity of the substrate.<\/p>\n

    SHELF LIFE<\/strong>
    \nWhen stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 – 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within two years of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n

      APPLICATION<\/strong>
      \nSurface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, and free from dirt, efflorescence, and stains.\u00a0 For optimum results, wait 14 – 28 days before applying PENTREAT 244-40 OTC to new concrete.\u00a0 Concrete surface must be clean and dry with all stains, oil, grease, dust, dirt, and curing compounds removed prior to application.<\/p>\n

      Application Method \u2026 <\/strong>Apply with a low-pressure airless sprayer, such as a Chapin 19069 with a 0.379 LPM (0.1 GPM) spray rate, allowing PENTREAT 244-40 OTC to flood the surface.<\/p>\n

      Horizontal Surfaces<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2026 Apply in a single pass.\u00a0 Completely saturate the surface and leave wet for 3 – 5 minutes.\u00a0 Then brush out or broom all pools and puddles of material from surface.<\/p>\n

      Vertical Surfaces<\/strong> \u2026 Apply two coats wet on wet.\u00a0 Do not allow the first coat to fully dry before applying the second.<\/p>\n

      Test Application \u2026 <\/strong>Always perform a test application on each type of surface prior to full-scale application to determine suitability and final appearance.\u00a0 Test using the recommended application instructions.\u00a0 Let area dry thoroughly before inspection.<\/p>\n

      Drying Time \u2026 <\/strong>Product dries quickly. Drying times will vary depending on application rate, temperature, humidity, and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours at 20\u00b0 C. Twelve hours is preferable.<\/p>\n

      PRECAUTIONS<\/strong>
      \nFOR OUTSIDE\/EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY.<\/strong>\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-40 OTC IS FLAMMABLE.\u00a0 KEEP AWAY FROM ALL OPEN FLAMES, SPARKS, IGNITION SOURCES, etc.\u00a0 Use with adequate ventilation and block all HVAC ventilation ducts which may spread product vapours – vapours are flammable and heavier than air. Do not use as a waterproofing or vapor barrier.\u00a0 PENTREAT 244-40 OTC will not block water transmission through defective substrates, such as cracked or improperly repaired surfaces.<\/p>\n

      Treated surface must be protected from rain for six hours minimum, but 24 hours is preferable. Do not over-apply. For optimum performance, the residual moisture must not exceed 4%.\u00a0 The surface temperature should be 3\u00b0 C above the dew point.\u00a0 Should it suddenly start to rain, stop treatment and cover impregnated areas. Do not allow puddling or running to occur.<\/p>\n
