Concrete should be prepared by mechanical abrading or high pressure water jetting to a sound surface.\u00a0 Vacuum or blow dust away with oil-free, compressed air.\u00a0 Mechanically abrade metal base plates to a bright metal finish.\u00a0 Exposed steel surfaces should be sandblasted and vacuumed clean; if not possible, degrease the surface and use sandpaper or a wire brush to reveal continuous, bright metal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixing<\/strong> <strong>\u2026 <\/strong>The resin and hardener (contained in the dual cartridge) must be conditioned between 18\u00ba &#8211; 29\u00ba C at the time of application.\u00a0 Use the double-boiler method or store material in a warm room prior to application. Shake the cartridge vigorously for 60 seconds then stand the cartridge upright for 60 seconds, allowing the bubbles to rise to the top.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION METHOD<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Substrate temperature must be 4\u00ba C and rising at the time of application.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure static mixer nozzle is free of obstructions.<\/li>\n<li>Remove nose cap.<\/li>\n<li>Remove nose plug.<\/li>\n<li>Insert static mixer onto cartridge nose. Slide retaining nut (located in sealed bag) down static mixer shaft.<\/li>\n<li>Tighten retaining nut onto cartridge nose.<\/li>\n<li>Load into standard dual cartridge dispenser tool.<\/li>\n<li>Dispense and discard approximately a 73.2 mm (3&#8243;) bead of material until a uniform, amber colour is achieved<\/li>\n<li>Re-insert nose plug and seal with nose cap to seal a partially used cartridge.<\/li>\n<li>Follow all instructions prior to application of partially used cartridge.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Crack Injecting \u2026 <\/strong>Epoxy can be pressure injected into fine cracks that are small (3.2 mm [1\/8&#8243;] maximum width).\u00a0 Surface seal the crack and set the REZI-WELD injection ports using <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/rezi-weld-gel-paste-state-canada\/\">REZI-WELD GEL PASTE STATE<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/poly-grip-canada\/\">POLY-GRIP<sub>\u2122<\/sub><\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS.\u00a0 Allow sufficient time for the surface seal to harden prior to injecting.\u00a0 If using one of the two cartridges, always use a high ratio application gun having a 35:1 ratio mechanical advantage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gravity Feed \u2026 <\/strong>Seal underside of elevated slab prior to filling if cracks reflect full depth.\u00a0 Pour neat, properly mixed and conditioned REZI-WELD LV STATE into v-notched crack.\u00a0 Continue placement until completely filled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interior, Non-Skid Topping \u2026 <\/strong>Apply at a rate not to exceed 2.66 m\u00b2\/L (100 ft.\u00b2\/U.S. gallon).\u00a0 Then apply layer of sand or grit over epoxy and allow epoxy to cure.\u00a0 Blow or vacuum excess sand away.\u00a0 NOTE:\u00a0 REZI-WELD LV STATE IS NOT TO BE USED AS A FINISHED FLOOR COVERING OR PROTECTIVE TREATMENT.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aggregates for Epoxy-Resin Mortars \u2026 <\/strong>Combine clean, dry aggregate with freshly mixed epoxy in a ratio of one part epoxy to 4 &#8211; 5 parts, by volume, of graded aggregates (not to exceed six parts sand).\u00a0 Patch thickness should not exceed 50.5 mm (1.5&#8243;) per lift.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cleanup \u2026 <\/strong>Clean tools and equipment immediately with toluene or xylene.\u00a0 Clean equipment away from all ignition sources and avoid breathing vapours or allowing epoxy-containing solvent to contact skin. \u00a0Should this material come in contact with skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water, <u>not<\/u> solvent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS\/LIMITATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DO NOT DILUTE.\u00a0 Mix complete units only.\u00a0 Not recommended for use when the concrete temperature has been below 4\u00ba C for the past 24 hours.\u00a0 Do not use to seal cracks under hydrostatic pressure.\u00a0 Do not warm epoxy over direct heat.\u00a0 REZI-WELD LV STATE is not to be used as an exterior coating, as it is not resistant to ultraviolet rays.\u00a0 Do not use when substrate temperature at time of application is above 43\u00b0 C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH HAZARDS <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This epoxy is corrosive.\u00a0 Personal protective equipment is necessary.\u00a0 Unused epoxy will generate excessive heat, especially in large quantities.\u00a0 Unused epoxy should be mixed with dry sand in the container to help lower heat.\u00a0 Refer to Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MASTERFORMAT NUMBER AND TITLE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>03 01 00 &#8211; Maintenance of Concrete<br \/>\n03 64 23 &#8211; Epoxy Injection Grouting<\/p>\n<p>2023-04<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/pics\/foot-can.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"98\" align=\"BOTTOM\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/pics\/footer-can.jpg\" alt=\"warranty\" width=\"614\" height=\"212\" align=\"BOTTOM\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REZI-WELD LV STATE is an ultra-low viscosity, two-component, 100% solids, rapid setting, epoxy-based, structural injection resin.
