R. MEADOWS and\/or DECK-O-SEAL is applied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Priming \u2026 <\/strong>DECK-O-SEAL adheres well to unprimed concrete; however, REZI-WELD LV is recommended for optimum adhesion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joint Sizes<\/strong> <strong>\u2026<\/strong> Proper joint design practices and application techniques must be followed for successful performance.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/deck-o-foam-canada\/\">DECK-O-FOAM<sub>\u00ae<\/sub><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/kool-rod-canada\/\">KOOL-ROD<sub>\u2122<\/sub><\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/kool-rod-soft-canada\/\">KOOL-ROD SOFT<\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS may be used as a joint backing material to control sealant depth and provide proper joint configuration. For larger joints, use a non-asphalt joint filler, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/cork-expansion-joint-canada\/\">CORK EXPANSION JOINT<\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS, in the joint before sealing.<\/p>\n<p>A 2:1 width-to-depth ratio should be maintained.\u00a0 However, in no case should joint sealant <em>depth<\/em> be less than 6.4 mm (1\/4&#8243;) or exceed 12.7 mm (1\/2&#8243;).\u00a0 DECK-O-SEAL should NOT be used in joints less than 6.4 mm (1\/4&#8243;) wide<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixing \u2026 <\/strong>DECK-O-SEAL is supplied in pre-measured kits with a ratio of setting agent to base, which must be maintained.\u00a0 Store and mix in a cool, shaded area. Do not mix until ready to use.\u00a0 (Product cannot be re-sealed for future use.)<\/p>\n<p>De-rim both cans with a can opener.\u00a0 Mix small can (setting agent) first, then pour into larger can.\u00a0 Pour the setting agent into the base and mix slowly. To aid in proper mixing, scrape material from the sides and bottom of the container until a uniform colour is obtained.\u00a0 <strong>Continue mixing for a recommended<\/strong> <strong>10 minutes, minimum. <\/strong>A slow-speed drill can be used. Care must be taken to ensure that all setting agent is thoroughly blended with the base component. \u00a0Avoid trapping air in the sealant.<\/p>\n<p>Improper mixing will result in inconsistent and improper product setting; some areas will be soft or still liquid. The improperly mixed material will need to be completely removed and the joint interfaces cleaned, then reapplied with DECK-O-SEAL that has been properly mixed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Method \u2026<\/strong> At 25\u00ba C and 30% relative humidity, the application life is approximately one hour.\u00a0 Apply thoroughly blended material with supplied squeeze bottle, 2.8 L (96 oz. kits only), caulking gun, or any other suitable applicator.
