MEADOWS\" width=\"678\" height=\"150\" align=\"BOTTOM\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"100%\" cellspacing=\"2\" cellpadding=\"2\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"19%\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/data-sheets\/ca\/#div3toc\">03 00 00<\/a><\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"29%\">\n<p align=\"RIGHT\">DATA SHEET 3300-333<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"18%\"><a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/data\/3300-333.pdf\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/pics\/pdfclick.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"119\" height=\"23\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>EVAPRE<sub>\u2122<\/sub>-RTU<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ready-To-Use Evaporation Retardant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DESCRIPTION<\/strong><br \/>\nEVAPRE-RTU is a ready-to-use evaporation retardant that is high quality and water-based.\u00a0 It is specifically designed to form a thin monomolecular film to reduce rapid moisture loss from the concrete surface prior to curing.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU provides a significant aid in producing high-quality concrete flatwork.\u00a0 Rapid evaporation of water is retarded, slab surface conditions are normalized, and workers can adhere more closely to established finishing schedules when using EVAPRE-RTU.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU is VOC-compliant.<\/p>\n<p>EVAPRE-RTU significantly reduces plastic shrinkage, cracking, wind crusting, stickiness, and sponginess, which often cause poor and uneven surface texture.\u00a0 These conditions result when the hydration is more rapid than the movement of bleed water to the surface.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU effectively combats and minimizes the effects of rapid drying conditions such as low humidity, low dew point, high winds, direct sunlight, hot weather, heated concrete, or placement of concrete in a heated enclosure or interior area during cold weather.\u00a0 The protective film shield disappears as soon as the concrete is no longer plastic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USES<\/strong><br \/>\nEVAPRE-RTU is ideal for use as an evaporation retardant for concrete surfaces where the evaporation rate exceeds the rate of bleeding.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU can be used with condensed silica fume concrete, concrete containing fly ash, and all cementitious products.\u00a0 When applying surface hardeners, EVAPRE-RTU can be used after screeding and after the first floating operation, if necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><br \/>\nEVAPRE-RTU is specifically designed to fight off the destructive effects of early rapid evaporative moisture loss.\u00a0 Early evaporative moisture loss is addressed in American Concrete Institute (ACI) Committee 305R-91: Recommended Practice for Hot Weather Concreting.\u00a0 This report contains a chart on page five which depicts the effect of concrete and air temperatures, relative humidity, and wind velocity on the rate of evaporation of surface moisture from concrete.\u00a0 It provides a graphic method for estimating the loss of surface moisture for various weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEATURES\/BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Significantly reduces plastic shrinkage and cracking caused by evaporation in low humidity, high temperatures, and high winds.<\/li>\n<li>Allows use of lower slump and lower water:cement ratio concrete.<\/li>\n<li>Provides smooth and durable concrete flatwork.<\/li>\n<li>Reduces wind crusting, stickiness, and sponginess, which often cause poor and uneven surface texture.<\/li>\n<li>Allows finishing crews to adhere to established schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Reduces overall cost because timing of finishing operations is less critical.<\/li>\n<li>VOC compliant.<\/li>\n<li>Helps minimize surface cracking due to early water loss of silica fume concrete.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PACKAGING<\/strong><br \/>\n18.9 Litre (5 U.S. Gal.) Pails<br \/>\n208 Litre (55 U.S. Gal.) Drums<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVERAGE<\/strong><br \/>\nEVAPRE-RTU should be applied at 4.9 &#8211; 9.8 m\u00b2\/L (200 &#8211; 400 ft.\u00b2\/U.S. gal.)\u00a0 Quantity applied will increase if more than one application is made, as in adverse drying conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHELF<\/strong> <strong>LIFE <\/strong><br \/>\nWhen stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 &#8211; 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within one year of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\nSTEP 1:\u00a0 Agitate EVAPRE-RTU before applying.<\/p>\n<p>STEP 2:\u00a0 Apply EVAPRE-RTU with a commercial sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949.\u00a0 Use a spray tip that produces a flow rate of 1.9 LPM (0.5 GPM) under 0.276 MPa (40 psi) of pressure.<\/p>\n<p>STEP 3:\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU should be applied immediately after screeding and\/or between finishing operations, as needed.\u00a0 Application is simplified by the fugitive pigment, which will disappear completely upon drying.\u00a0 Do not allow puddling. Do not over-apply.<\/p>\n<p>STEP 4 &#8211; Clean all equipment immediately after use with soap and water.<\/p>\n<p>STEP 5 &#8211; Finish concrete surface as required.<\/p>\n<p>STEP 6 &#8211; Cure concrete after bleed water or excess surface water has dissipated.\u00a0 The use of EVAPRE-RTU does not negate the need for a quality <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/c\/construction-products\/construction-liquids\/concrete-curing\/\">concrete curing<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/c\/construction-liquids\/curing-sealing-compounds\/\">curing and sealing compound<\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note \u2026 <\/strong>The residue remaining on the surface after finishing will not impair bonding or alter colour.\u00a0 The protective shield usually lasts as long as the concrete is plastic.\u00a0 Therefore, all concrete surfaces must be properly cured as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nDO NOT USE EVAPRE-RTU as a finishing aid for cementitious materials, including dry shake surface hardeners or toppings.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU should not be worked into the concrete surface, nor should it be used to re-temper the concrete.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU should not be applied during final trowelling operations.\u00a0 EVAPRE-RTU is not a curing agent.<\/p>\n<p>W.
