COUNTERTOP MIX is formulated specifically to have low shrinkage and curling.\u00a0 COUNTER TOP MIX is easy to mix onsite for either cast-in-place or precast counters.\u00a0 COUNTERTOP MIX ensures consistent, quality countertops.<\/p>\n<p><b>USES<\/b><br \/>\nCOUNTERTOP MIX is used for creating custom kitchen, bar, and bathroom countertops. COUNTERTOP MIX is also used in the manufacture of concrete vessels, bowls, and tables.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEATURES\/BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides consistent quality results.<\/li>\n<li>High compressive strength of 61.1 MPa (8870 psi).<\/li>\n<li>Low shrinkage.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Unique aggregates&#8221; for ground finish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>PACKAGING<\/b><br \/>\n25 Kg Bags<\/p>\n<p><b>COVERAGE<\/b><br \/>\nEach 25 kg bag yields 0.011 m<sup>3 <\/sup>(.42 ft.<sup>3<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHELF LIFE<\/strong><br \/>\nTwo years from date of manufacture when stored indoors on pallets in a dry, cool area. Do not store product outside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Surface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Depending on application, surface prep and placement of rebar or wire mesh may be required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixing \u2026 <\/strong>\u00a0Requires a heavy duty 300 rpm hand mixer or mortar mixer for appropriate blending.\u00a0 Place \u00be of total water requirement in the mortar mixer or mixing vessel.\u00a0 (Water requirement is four litres of clean water for each bag of COUNTERTOP MIX.)\u00a0 Slowly add all COUNTERTOP MIX to the water while mixing.\u00a0 Adjust to a workable porridge-like consistency with remaining \u00bc of total water requirement.\u00a0 Mix for three minutes with a drill mixer or 10 minutes with a mortar mixer.\u00a0 Do not remix.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer to countertop mold, vibrate into place, and allow to cure slowly at normal room temperature for at least three days before un-molding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Method \u2026<\/strong> Apply at a minimum 38.1 mm (1\u00bd&#8221;) thickness.\u00a0 Concrete vibrator and finishing tools are recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curing \u2026<\/strong> For cast-in-place countertops, spray the surface with water.\u00a0 Keep the surface moist for a couple of days and slowly bring it to a dry state.\u00a0 Be sure to cover all windows above the countertop and avoid exposing the countertop to direct sunlight.\u00a0 This may cause the countertop to cure unevenly.<\/p>\n<p>For precast countertops, lift the slabs on 50.8 mm x 101.6 mm (2&#8243; x 4&#8243;) blocks to allow the bottom of the countertop to air cure evenly with the top surface.\u00a0 Keep the surface moist for a couple of days and slowly bring it to a dry state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Polishing and Grinding \u2026 <\/strong>Allow at least two days after casting before polishing the concrete.\u00a0 Use water when polishing with diamond pads.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nDo not ingest. Personal protection equipment recommended: eye, hand, and respiratory. <strong>DO NOT OVER WATER.<\/strong> The least amount of water used in a concrete mix produces the least amount of shrinkage (less cracks) and a more durable\/stronger concrete.
