Extend existing control and expansion joints through MEADOW-PATCH T2.<\/li>\n<li>Apply <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/decra-seal-wb-canada\/\">DECRA-SEAL<sub>\u2122<\/sub> W\/B<\/a> for added protection.<\/li>\n<li>Do not add any admixtures.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid steel-wheeled traffic in thin applications. Thin applications subject to high point loading should also be avoided.<\/li>\n<li>Exceeding liquid requirements shall result in reduced physical properties.<\/li>\n<li>Realize that set time will decrease as the product, air, substrate, and mixing liquid temperature increases and will be increased as the temperature decreases.<\/li>\n<li>Protect from conditions that may cause early water loss: high winds, low humidity, high temperature, and direct sunlight. Early water loss is amplified in thin applications.<\/li>\n<li>Realize that the use of extender aggregate will alter physical properties.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to follow industry standard practices, such as ACI or ICRI, will result in decreased material performance.<\/li>\n<li>Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by W. R. MEADOWS&#8217; personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only, and are not to supervise or provide quality control on the jobsite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>NOTE: The following information is for MEADOW-PATCH T2 as a concrete resurfacer.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Surface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Prepare concrete substrate in accordance with International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) Technical Guideline #310.2-1997: Specifying Concrete Surface Preparation for Sealers, Coatings, and Polymer Overlays.<\/p>\n<p>Mechanically roughen or high pressure water-jet existing concrete substrate to a minimum concrete surface profile (CSP) of CSP-4 or higher, depending on substrate condition.\u00a0 Remove all unsound concrete and provide a profiled, porous surface.\u00a0 Substrate must be structurally sound, dust-free, and free of grease, oil, dirt, curing compounds, release agents, or any other surface or penetrated contaminants that will adversely affect bond.\u00a0 Sanding or wire-abrading are not approved surface preparation methods.<\/p>\n<p>Substrate must be saturated surface dry (SSD) and free of standing water.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mix Ratios: ACRY-LOK to MEADOW-PATCH T2<br \/>\n<\/strong>Base-coat: 3.78 L (1 U.S. gal.) per 22.7 kg (50 lb.) bag.<br \/>\nTopcoat: 4.72 L (1.25 U.S. gal.) per 22.7 kg (50 lb.) bag.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedures \u2026 <\/strong>Using a mortar-type mixer, pour \u00be of the required ACRY-LOK polymer from the stated mix ratios above (depending on application) into a clean mixing container. Slowly add powder and mix to a desired consistency using the remaining liquid polymer as recommended for the application type. Always add standard concrete liquid or powder inorganic pigment prior to fully adding the remaining ACRY-LOK adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>Mix for three minutes or until lump-free consistency is obtained. Do not over-mix. For small repairs, mix in a clean vessel [18.9 L (5 U.S. gal.)] using a variable-speed drill with a paddle mixer at 400-600 rpm. Mix only complete bags. Do not mix more material than can be placed and finished in 30 minutes at 25\u00b0C (77\u00b0F).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crack Detail \u2026 <\/strong>Detail existing cracks, either by injecting or gravity feeding a low viscosity epoxy such as <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/rezi-weld-lv-state-canada\/\">REZI-WELD LV STATE<\/a>, conforming to ASTM C 881, Type IV, Grade 1 or 2, Class B or C.  Active cracks may telegraph through MEADOW-PATCH T2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jointing \u2026 <\/strong>Do not apply MEADOW-PATCH T2 over expansion or active joints.\u00a0 Tape or protect existing joint from intrusion of product.\u00a0 The application of MEADOW-PATCH T2 may be placed over control joints and tooled prior to final set (usually 20 minutes after application) using an edging tool to give a frame design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Placement \u2026 <\/strong>Apply a base-coat of the properly mixed and prepared substrate either by Magic Trowel, TexMaster Tools (www.texmastertools.com), steel trowel, wood float, or hopper sprayer onto the surface, filling in low or deteriorated areas.\u00a0 The purpose of the base-coat is to fill in any defects while leaving the material even with the high spots.\u00a0 Allow base-coat to dry 2-6 hours, depending on temperate and sun.\u00a0 Remove any high spots or rough areas using a rubbing stone.<\/p>\n<p>Slightly pre-dampen the base coat, especially on hot or sunny days, to cool the surface to allow for easier application and longer open time.\u00a0 Apply the topcoat by Magic Trowel or hopper sprayer to a uniform smooth or desired surface.\u00a0 A broom finish may be applied immediately following application, typically within 10 minutes maximum.<\/p>\n<p>For additional application techniques or decorative enhancements, such as stencilling, please contact a W. MEADOWS representative at (800) 342-5976.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curing \u2026 <\/strong>Protect from early water loss under extreme conditions, such as hot weather, direct sun, or strong winds.\u00a0 Cure final coat with <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/vocomp-25-concrete-curing-and-sealing-compound-canada\/\">VOCOMP<sub>\u00ae<\/sub>-25<\/a> from W. Allow slurry coat to become tacky prior to application of MEADOW-PATCH T2.\u00a0 Do not allow slurry coat to become tack-free.\u00a0 If slurry coat becomes tack-free prior to application of the bulk mix, reapply slurry coat after primed substrate has been properly saturated to SSD condition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mix Ratios: ACRY-LOK to MEADOW-PATCH T2<br \/>\n<\/strong>2.8 &#8211; 3.78 L (0.75 &#8211; 1 U.S. gal.) per 22.7 kg (50 lb) bag.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedures \u2026 <\/strong>Same as procedures on previous page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EXTENSION<br \/>\nAs a Repair Mortar<\/strong>\u2026 Applications greater than 25.4 mm (1&#8221;) must be extended with 5.68 kg (12.5 lb.) of 6.4 mm (1\/4&#8221;) washed, dry pea gravel. Applications greater than 50.8 mm (2&#8221;) must be extended with 11.36 kg (25 lb.) of 9.5 mm (3\/8&#8221;) washed, dry pea gravel.\u00a0 Maximum application depth is 101.6 mm (4&#8243;).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crack Detail \u2026 <\/strong>Detail existing cracks, either by injecting or gravity feeding a low viscosity epoxy such as REZI-WELD<sub>\u00ae<\/sub> LV STATE from W. R. MEADOWS, conforming to ASTM C881, Type IV, Grade 1 or 2, Class B or C.  Active cracks may telegraph through MEADOW-PATCH T2 concrete resurfacer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLACEMENT<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>As a Repair Mortar \u2026 <\/strong>Apply MEADOW-PATCH T2 into the repair zone substrate by compacting the material well against the properly prepared substrate. Finish surface with steel or wood trowel or sponge float. Never re-temper.<\/p>\n<p>Follow these additional procedures if hot or cold weather conditions exist: Standard on Hot Weather Concreting, ACI 305-R89 or Standard on Cold Weather Concreting, ACI 306-R88.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curing \u2026 <\/strong>Cure MEADOW-PATCH T2 immediately following application using a suitable water-based curing compound from W. R. MEADOWS, or in accordance with ACI 308.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/1220-white-pigmented-concrete-curing-compound\/\">1220-WHITE<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/1100-clear-canada\/\">1100<\/a>, or VOCOMP-25 from W. R. MEADOWS is recommended for curing.\u00a0 (Do not use solvent-based curing compounds.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAFETY AND TOXICITY<\/strong><br \/>\nAvoid direct contact with this product, as it may cause skin and eye irritation. Utilize gloves and safety glasses to minimize direct contact. Avoid inhalation of dust. Inhalation may cause respiratory irritation and\/or lung disease (silicosis). This product contains silicon dioxide, which is classified by the IARC and NTP as probably carcinogenic to humans (IARC Group 2A). The use of NIOSH-approved respiratory protection is recommended in dusty environments.
