R. Remove all unsound concrete and provide a profiled, porous surface. Substrate must be structurally sound, dust-free, and free of grease, oil, dirt, curing compounds, release agents, or any other surface or penetrated contaminants that will adversely affect bond. Sanding, cup grinding, or wire-abrading are not approved surface preparation methods.\u00a0 Substrate must be saturated, surface dry (SSD) and free of standing water.<\/p>\n<p>Prime SSD substrate with slurry coat consisting of two parts powder to one part water or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/acry-lok-canada\/\">ACRY-LOK<sub>\u2122<\/sub><\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS (for enhanced bonding). Do not allow slurry coat to become dry or tack-free. If slurry coat becomes dry or tack-free prior to application of the bulk mix, reapply slurry coat after the already primed substrate has been properly saturated to SSD condition.\u00a0 For increased bond, prime substrate with <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/rezi-weld-1000-canada\/\">REZI-WELD<sub>\u2122<\/sub> 1000<\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS and follow surface prep and application procedures as outlined on that data sheet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixing \u2026<\/strong> Using a mortar-type mixer, add 2.8 L (3 U.S. quarts) of clean water per 22.7 kg (50 lb.) bag of MEADOW-PATCH T1. Slowly add powder and mix to desired consistency, using up to 0.47 L (0.5 U.S. quarts) of clean water only as needed.\u00a0\u00a0 The properly mixed product should have the consistency of a light, creamy, clay-like material that is easily worked, but should not be free-flowing.\u00a0 Mix for three minutes or until lump-free consistency is obtained. Do not over-mix. For small repairs, mix in a clean vessel using a variable-speed drill with a paddle mixer at 400 &#8211; 600 rpm. Mix only complete bags. Do not mix more material than can be placed and finished in 30 minutes at 25\u00b0 C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Placement<\/strong><strong> \u2026<\/strong> Apply MEADOW-PATCH T1 into the repair zone substrate by compacting the material well against the properly prepared substrate. Finish surface with steel or wood trowel or sponge float. Never re-temper.\u00a0 Follow <em>American Concrete Institure (ACI) 305 &#8220;Standard on Hot Weather Concreting&#8221; <\/em>or<em> ACI 306 &#8220;Standard on Cold Weather Concreting&#8221;<\/em> when applicable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curing \u2026 <\/strong>Cure MEADOW-PATCH T1 immediately following application using a suitable water-based curing compound from W. R. MEADOWS or in accordance with ACI 308. Use <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/1220-white-pigmented-concrete-curing-compound\/\">1220-WHITE<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/en-ca\/1100-clear-canada\/\">1100<\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS for curing. (Do not use solvent-based curing compounds.)\u00a0 When conditions exist for early water loss, such as, but not limited to, high temperature [32\u02da C (90\u02da F)], high winds, direct sun, low humidity, or thin and\/or small area patches, wet cure for 24 hours and apply 1220-WHITE or 1100 curing compound.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nMEADOW-PATCH T1 is recommended for concrete patch repairs only.\u00a0 Not intended to be used as a self-leveling underlayment, overlay, or topping.\u00a0 Do not apply below 4\u00b0 C or above 32\u00b0 C or when rain is imminent.\u00a0 Do not bridge moving cracks. Extend existing control and expansion joints through MEADOW-PATCH T1.\u00a0 Do not exceed a length-to-width ratio of 2 to 1 for the repair area.\u00a0 Do not add any admixtures.\u00a0 Exceeding liquid requirements shall result in reduced physical properties.\u00a0 Realize that set time will decrease as the product, air, substrate, and mixing liquid temperature increases and will be increased as the temperature decreases.\u00a0 Featheredging may result in reduced durability and performance.\u00a0 Maximum application thickness should not exceed 25.4 mm (1&#8243;).\u00a0 Protect from conditions that may cause early water loss: high winds, low humidity, high temperature, direct sunlight. Early water loss is amplified in thin and\/or small area applications.\u00a0 The use of extender aggregate will alter physical properties.\u00a0 Failure to follow ACI concreting practices and industry standard practices will result in decreased material performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH AND SAFETY<\/strong><br \/>\nContains Portland cement and crystalline silica (sand) which are suspected carcinogens.\u00a0 Avoid direct contact.\u00a0 Skin and eye irritant.\u00a0 Dust may cause respiratory tract irritation.\u00a0 Follow OSHA safety regulations when handling.\u00a0 Avoid inhalation of dust. Utilize chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses to minimize direct contact.\u00a0 May cause serious delayed lung injury (silicosis).<\/p>\n<p>If contact occurs, wash affected areas with mild soap and water. For eye contact, flush with water for a minimum 15 minutes and contact a physician immediately.\u00a0 Keep product out of reach of children. For industrial use only. Not for consumption.\u00a0 This product contains silicon dioxide, which is classified by the IARC and NTP as probably carcinogenic to humans (IARC Group 2A).
