The product has a light gray color and is designed for vertical, overhead, and horizontal applications. This fast setting, low slump repair mortar may be troweled, shaped, molded, and shaved before taking a final set. MEADOW-PATCH 20 is an excellent patching solution for difficult vertical and overhead applications without using expensive and intricate forming techniques.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USES<\/strong><br \/>\nMEADOW-PATCH 20 is easy to mix and apply. This fast setting, low slump mortar is designed to minimize downtime. Because of its versatility, MEADOW-PATCH 20 can be used vertically, horizontally, or overhead. Whether the installation is interior or exterior, MEADOW-PATCH 20 is an excellent choice for fast repairs above-, below-, or on-grade. R. MEADOWS is recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Surface Preparation \u2026 <\/strong>Prepare concrete substrate in accordance with International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) Technical Guideline #310.2: Specifying Concrete Surface Preparation for Sealers, Coatings, and Polymer Overlays. Mechanically roughen or high pressure water-jet existing concrete substrate to a minimum concrete surface profile (CSP) of four or higher, depending on substrate condition. Remove all unsound concrete and provide a profiled, porous surface. Substrate must be structurally sound, dust-free, and free of grease, oil, dirt, curing compounds, release agents, or any other surface or penetrated contaminants that will adversely affect bond. Sanding, cup grinding, or wire-abrading are not approved surface preparation methods. Substrate must be saturated, surface dry (SSD) and free of standing water.<\/p>\n<p>Prime SSD substrate with slurry coat consisting of two parts powder to one part water or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/acry-lok-canada\/\">ACRY-LOK<sub>\u2122<\/sub><\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS (for enhanced bonding). Do not allow slurry coat to become dry or tack-free. If slurry coat becomes dry or tack-free prior to application of the bulk mix, reapply slurry coat after the already primed substrate has been properly saturated to SSD condition. For increased bond, prime substrate with <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/rezi-weld-1000-canada\/\">REZI-WELD<sub>\u2122<\/sub> 1000<\/a> medium-viscosity structural bonding agent from W. R. MEADOWS and follow surface prep and application procedures as outlined on that data sheet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixing \u2026 <\/strong>MEADOW-PATCH 20 requires 3.3 \u2013 3.78 L (3.5 \u2013 4 quarts) of potable water per unit depending on desired consistency. Mix for three minutes or until homogenous and lump-free. Do not mix more material than can be placed and finished within 8 &#8211; 12 minutes at 25\u00b0 C (77\u00b0 F). Do not over-mix. MEADOW-PATCH 20 may be mixed with 4.7 L (1.25 U.S. gal.) of ACRY-LOK per unit to achieve greater durability and enhanced performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Placement \u2026 <\/strong>Compact MEADOW-PATCH 20 into properly prepared SSD substrate prior to bulk placement. Finish surface with a wood or steel trowel or sponge float. MEADOW-PATCH 20 may be applied up to 51 mm (2&#8243;). Do not re-temper or over-work product. Follow American Concrete Institute (ACI) 305 &#8220;Standard on Hot Weather Concreting&#8221; or 306 &#8220;Standard on Cold Weather Concreting&#8221; when applicable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curing \u2026 <\/strong>Cure MEADOW-PATCH 20 immediately following application using a suitable water-based curing compound from W. R. MEADOWS or in accordance with ACI 308. <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/1100-clear-canada\/\">1100-CLEAR<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/1220-white-pigmented-concrete-curing-compound\/\">1220-WHITE<\/a> from W. R. MEADOWS is recommended for curing. (Do not use solvent-based curing compounds.) When conditions exist for early water loss, such as, but not limited to, high temperature [32\u00b0 C (90\u00b0 F)], high winds, direct sun, low humidity, or thin and\/or small area patches, wet curing is recommended for 24 hours, immediately followed by an application of 1100-CLEAR or 1220-WHITE curing compound.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nMEADOW-PATCH 20 is recommended for concrete repairs only. Not intended to be used as a self-levelling underlayment or topping. MEADOW-PATCH 20 is designed as a trowel down repair mortar. Do not apply below 1.7\u00b0C (35\u00b0F) or above 32.2\u00b0C (90\u00b0F) or when rain is imminent. Protect from freezing for a minimum 24 hours. Do not bridge moving cracks. Extend existing control, construction, and expansion joints through MEADOW-PATCH 20. For large areas with no control, expansion, or construction joints, refer to ACI guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The length-to-width ratio of the repair area should not exceed 2 to 1. Do not add any admixtures. Exceeding liquid requirements shall result in reduced physical properties. Realize that set time will decrease as the product, air, substrate, and mixing liquid temperature increases and will increase as the temperature decreases. Featheredging may result in reduced durability and performance. Maximum application thickness should not exceed 51 mm (2&#8243;) when applied neat. Protect from conditions that may cause early water loss: wind, low humidity, high temperature, direct sunlight. Early water loss is amplified in thin applications. Failure to follow industry standard practices may result in decreased material performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH AND SAFETY<\/strong><br \/>\nAvoid direct contact with this product, as it may cause skin and eye irritation. Utilize gloves and safety glasses to minimize direct contact. Avoid inhalation of dust. Inhalation may cause respiratory irritation and\/ or lung disease (silicosis). This product contains silicon dioxide, which is classified by the IARC and NTP as probably carcinogenic to humans (IARC Group 2A). The use of NIOSH approved respiratory protection is recommended in dusty environments. Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/can.wrmeadows.com\/Msds-2K-CAN\/3900-422.pdf\">Material Safety Data Sheet<\/a> for complete Health and Safety Information.
