Once applied, 1100 forms a premium-grade membrane that retains an optimum amount of water in freshly placed concrete for complete hydration of the cement.\u00a0 NOTE: After approximately four weeks, the membrane begins to chemically break down when exposed to UV rays.\u00a0 The membrane will eventually dissipate from the surface. This process is sped up by exposure to traffic and UV light, as well as weathering conditions.\u00a0 This product is formerly known as 1100-CLEAR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USES<\/strong><br \/>\n1100 can be used on both interior and exterior applications.\u00a0\u00a0 Paint, resilient tile, or resilient flooring may be applied on concrete cured with 1100, once the product has dissipated and has been properly removed.\u00a0 Because of the wide variety of coatings, paints, adhesives, and toppings available, contact the manufacturer of the flooring system or subsequent coating or topping for application approval over concrete cured with resin-based curing compounds. A small test application is always recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FEATURES\/BENEFITS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When properly applied, 1100 produces a premium-grade film, which optimizes water retention.<\/li>\n<li>Furnished as ready-to-use, true water-based compound.<\/li>\n<li>Produces hard, dense concrete \u2026 minimizes hair checking, thermal cracking, dusting, and other defects.<\/li>\n<li>Offers a compressive strength significantly greater than improperly cured or uncured concrete.<\/li>\n<li>Increases tensile strength for greater resistance to cracking and surface crazing.<\/li>\n<li>Improves resistance to abrasion and the corrosive action of salts and chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>Minimizes excessive shrinkage.<\/li>\n<li>Can be applied quickly and easily with conventional commercial spray equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Formulations also available with green fugitive dye added (type 1-D).<\/li>\n<li>VOC-compliant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PACKAGING<\/strong><br \/>\n18.9 Litre Pails<br \/>\n205 Litre Drums<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVERAGE<\/strong><br \/>\nApproximately 4.91 m\u00b2\/L (200 ft.<sup>2<\/sup>\/gal.).\u00a0 Coverage is approximate and may vary depending on surface finish\/texture, concrete condition, climatic conditions, etc.\u00a0 Always apply to a test area first to determine actual coverage rate before full-scale application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SHELF LIFE<br \/>\n<\/strong>When stored indoors in original, unopened containers at temperatures between 4\u00b0 &#8211; 32\u00b0 C, optimum performance and best use is obtained within two years of date of manufacture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ASTM C309, Type 1, Classes A &amp; B (Type 1-D also available)<\/li>\n<li>AASHTO M-148 Type 1, Classes A &amp; B (Type 1-D also available)<\/li>\n<li>Complies with Canada VOC Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations<\/li>\n<li>CAN\/CSA A23.1<\/li>\n<li>Approved by the Ministry of Transportation, Quebec<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Mixing \u2026<\/strong> For optimum performance, gentle mixing or agitation is recommended.\u00a0 CAUTION:\u00a0 TO AVOID FOAMING, DO NOT MIX <u>EXCESSIVELY<\/u>. DO NOT THIN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Method &#8230; <\/strong>Application equipment must be clean and free of all previously used materials.\u00a0 Apply in a uniform film to horizontal surfaces as soon as the surface water disappears and the surface will not be marred by walking workmen. On vertical surfaces, apply promptly after the forms are removed. 1100 may be applied with a typical commercial hand or power sprayer, such as a Chapin 1949. Use a spray nozzle that produces a flow of 1.9 LPM (0.5 GPM) under .276 MPa (40 psi) of pressure.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An even spray pattern\/application is essential to the aesthetic and final appearance of the concrete. Be mindful of clogged or partially clogged spray tips that spray 1100 in an uneven and uniform pattern.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do not allow the spray nozzle to drip on fresh concrete. Drips and uneven spray patterns apply higher concentrations of the film, which may cause the cement to hydrate at different rates. Removal of the film will not change the spray patterns mirrored in the concrete surface from the cement hydrating at different rates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drying Time &#8230; <\/strong>Typically dries in approximately 1 &#8211; 2 hours, depending on jobsite conditions (temperature, % relative humidity, wind, etc.). Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours.\u00a0 Twelve hours is preferable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cleanup \u2026<\/strong> Prior to drying, cleanup can be accomplished with soap and water.\u00a0 Once dried, use mineral spirits or other suitable petroleum solvent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nKEEP FROM FREEZING. Do not apply if air and\/or concrete temperature is less than 4\u00b0 C.\u00a0 Improper or over-application may increase the amount of time necessary for the film to dissipate from the surface. SURFACE MAY DISCOLOUR AND\/OR YELLOW DUE TO OVER-APPLICATION AND\/OR MEMBRANE OXIDATION.\u00a0 DO NOT MIX OR DILUTE WITH ANY OTHER PRODUCTS OR LIQUIDS.\u00a0\u00a0 Do not apply paint, resilient flooring, or any other subsequent coatings or toppings without first checking the specifications and securing approval from the manufacturer of the product being applied over concrete cured with 1100.\u00a0 A small test application is always recommended, prior to full-scale application.
