Job Summary:
Repair and maintain production equipment and general building services. The prime responsibility is to support production by preserving the condition and functionality of our production equipment. The successful maintenance candidate will have some welding experience with good verbal communication and the ability to understand mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components in order to trouble shoot equipment repairs in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will offer suggestions toward the company goal of continuous improvement with a focus on safety-centered programs, production efficiency indicators and lead preventive maintenance efforts in the plant. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter requiring little to no supervision. To excel in this position, you must be a problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail, sense of urgency, service orientation and organizational skills. Able to work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches, and apply own ideas in design. Personal communication skills and ability to work with a variety of different personalities as a team, are a necessity.
Job Duties Include:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic nature on all types of manufacturing equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble equipment to working conditions.
- Understand and perform the Preventative Maintenance Program. Identify and report any maintenance issues on machines and equipment.
- Detect and report any improper operation, faulty equipment, defective material, or unusual conditions, which may affect plant safety, efficiency or security. Identify and report any equipment, operational or safety problems or material deficiencies.
- Compile maintenance and/or repair parts list for plant manager and maintain inventory of spare parts
- Follow the plant’s housekeeping and safety requirements and standards.
- Complete all necessary reports and forms, including maintaining maintenance and efficiency records for the plant and equipment.
- Move and handle materials as necessary.
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Construct, alter, and improvise available manufacturing equipment for special requirements. Construct or specify parts, mechanisms, devices, or apparatus as necessary.
- Provides instruction, training and guidance to employees and outside contractors within the plant.
- Assists in new equipment installation and equipment repairs.
- Performs other similar or associated duties as required.
Requirements:
- Technical training preferred, but not required or 5+ years of hands-on industrial mechanical experience. Willing to train the right candidate with proven skills and experience in a similar role with mechanical experience.
